Excellent product, great for HD-based backups I’m very happy with these — I have two of them and use them in different PCs with my BIOSes configured for SATA hot swapping for both bare-metal and file backups. This allows me to use them almost like very large tape drives and easily have backup drives that don’t need to be powered and can be stored separately from the PCs, on or off-site.
Great product The Vantec 3.5-Inch SATA 6Gb/s Trayless Mobile Rack with Lock (MRK-311S6) is very well built. Some parts seemed flimsy at first. Once I mounted the tray properly, it was rock solid. I do not notice any flex when inserting or removing a drive. Drives fit snug enough and slide in smoothly. The doors click-in firmly and appear to me they will last a number of years. At this price point, this is a very good product.
Brilliant I’ve been using two of these for weeks now and they’re brilliant. So simple to pop any Sata drive in and out. Optional lock (I’m glad its not mandadatory). I just flick the door latch and the drive pops out.
