Update: fell apart. Update: so after less than eight months of use, the thing failed. First of all, the part with the sockets was always somewhat loose, but it held okay. Then the ball & plastic shaft broke off the top of the neck. I pulled it from the car, disassembled it to try to super-glue the ball back on (which seemed to work, btw) but couldn’t get the large ring tight enough to the cup holder anymore – the top (where the sockets and neck go) was now much too loose. Started awesome then fell apart. This started out as a five star buy for me. Now 2 1/2 months later the top has come off, with no use other than normal and is now in two pieces and need to be thrown out. It is a shame the build quality allowed this to happen as in concept it is a great idea.
